Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

1. Three Triang Trestrols in a "played with condition" Two grey (one with transfers and anther green with NATO on the site all have some damage but I've heard these models were too short so I intend to cut and shut these into one or two proper length models as soon as I can fing a drawing to see how long they need to be.

2. Triang (green) bogie well wagon, again for detailing once I can idenmtify the type it is based on.

3. The Hornby R6004 Maintenance crane (basically the old Trian version!) which I hope to detail.

Modelling a combined 00 and 009 gauge Layout (GWR/GVT) mostly

Well so far this week, a box for a Tri-ang "Nellie", a box for a Tri-ang-Hornby Evening Star, almost complete perfect Tri-ang short TPO set just needs mail bags, pony truck for Tri-ang-Hornby BR A3, boxed perfect Tri-ang-Hornby MK1 Full Brake in BR Maroon, 2x mint CKD Tri-ang-Hornby MK1 Composites, 1973 Hornby catalouge, Blue Pullman dummy car in BR Blue and Grey, Early Tri-ang Br Black 3MT body. Bit of a BR theme going on here.

That body takes me back SoT - was part of my first train set back in the 50s, if I'm not mistaken.

And thanks for all the fish …

They were indeed decent bargains, the mail coach set cost me 99p as no one bid!

Sorry, PJ, but "Evening Star" was a loco, not a train.

Now I have a Mainline 'Patriot' and a 'Jubilee' I intend to do a bit of re-naming, so Modelmaster have just provided me with Jackson Evans plates for 45521 'Rhyl', and 45617 'Mauritius', two places I have a strong attachment to.

Funnily enough, LC, one of my neighbours over the road is an Indian from Mauritious where he owns a family property. Bit of an expensive place to go there, isn't it, though? My chances of ever going there in my state of health are about as dead as a dodo!

I have been to Rhyl a few times as well. I even went round their steam loco shed 6K just over 50 years ago.

A couple of Oxford die casts - Post Office Morry Minor van and a 3-wheeler van.

and a Train Tech rail power tester (could have made one but couldn't be bothered so I bought one).

and a diesel crane wagon kit.

and some Humbrol paint for my Class 37 bodywork.

and some sticky stripes from a craft shop also for my Class 37. I can't paint straight so I cheat with these.
