Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

Posted at 07:59:15 Tue 19 Mar 2013

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Latest aquisition - some Da--l working semaphores. Regarding WTD's upside down loco perhaps he was demonstrating magnadhesion? Nice Vulcan!

Email from Liverpool to say my R3290 is imminent, so I will be getting a call from my local shop to tell me it will be in shortly too. One of them will be getting a new identity and both will lose all that dreadful yellow paint before entering stock. I will then have six 2Hal sets (including a Bulleid 'tin' version), with kits for a further three non-motorised ones to multiple up, as yet unbuilt! Good job I will need a lot of them. Now Hornby, how about some 4Sub sets, I will need five of them and I only have one at present?

If you dream it, you can do it.

How goods the half cab WTD have thought of getting one. But I have a craftsmans which built into a lovely little runner. So unsure whether to go for a RTR or a second kit.
If it’s not Crimson, it isn’t a proper engine

It's a little gem fazy. Crosses points as if they're not there. Haven't run it in yet.

I confess to ordering both the BR 2Hals from both Liverpool and Monk Bar as they are a high priority in my collection, and I don't want to miss out this time.
By the way, the Vulcan isn't my latest acquisition, can't quite afford it. Is the picture upside down?
Not on my iPad. I'll check IE again later.
And thanks for all the fish …

Hi Today I went to the Reading Vintage toy fair, was fairly good as there was no thing new on sale (anything made after 1995 that is) I brought a 2 6 0 Davy Crockett, its complete and in a very clean condition, going to use it with my 5 side tipping wagons as a logging train, also a Transcontinental bogie tanker and operating bogie hopper wagon.
