Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Very droll.  There probably will be if the bloke who owns the 9F Cock Of The North buys one.

What do you mean, GOES a bit odd?? I thought I had satisfied the 'odd' credentials on a permanent basis!! At least that is what SWMBO seems to think.

Does WTD get angry on a David Banner scale? You remember? - goes green, swells up, tears his shirt and trousers, and grows a fuzzy hairstyle and his irises go white ??  I thought it was Nellie that had that effect on the poor fellow, so Flying Scotchman is a new one.Oh well more fuel to the fire I suppose. I prefer rum to scotch in any case. And a case of it would be most welcome at Christmas. (Hint, Hint)

What I could never understand is why when the 'Hulk' returned to his human form his clothes miraculously repaired themselves. Amazing what they can do in Hollywood!

I don't get angry about things that don't affect me. Neither FS or Nellie are part of my life, just think they're a waste of time. Takes a lot to make me get angry.

Hi LC&DR

Did you ever notice with 'Wonder Woman' when she was walking around, or just stood looking sexy, she was always wearing high heeled boots. When she was running she was wearing 'flaties' It took me a long time to notice - I didn't normally look that far down'

WTD does go strange whenever FS is mentioned. His eyes glaze and he starts muttering, 'Stuff it. Mount it'

Just got a copy of 'South and West from Waterloo' rrp £20, Amazon £12. Not bad, got some photos of Basingstoke shed, which is not shown very often. Also some strange steam locos that look like a long biscuit tin.

LC&DR would like the phots of Southern region push/pull coaches.

Good to see you have space for some appropriate reading material, (oddly enough I am re-reading the Oakwood Press book about the Tyneside electrics!).

Hi all,

Today I recieved one of my most wanted locos, a R257 Triang Railway's double ended loco in two tone green with twin pamtographs (both are intact). Its a little tired looking but with a liitle work it will look great.

All I need now is the complete 4 coach transcontinental in two tone green set to go with it.

Do you reckon he also reacts like that to the mention of "Wonder Woman"?

Definitely not.
