Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

I really hope they make a 5-POT and a 6-LIP, what about you PP?

Well, I'ne heard they are doing quite an unusual unit - the VIT. They are mostly 4 car sets which are known as 4VITs. There were some 2 car sets which were known as HalfVITs.

Well I thought it was amusing, even if no-one else does.

Oh, please yourselves!!

Ignore them Tony - they will get tired of it eventually.

Only when you tire of asking for an air smoothed MN.

I'm not certain. Whenever Air-smoothed Merchant Navys are mentioned LC&DR goes a bit err......odd. When you've been here a while you notice it's just best to go along with him

He was hinting just now that WTD gets upset at the mention of Flying Scotsman. He's winding us up again, WTD doesn't get upset he gets very angry

I've always been told that "air smoothed" is the poor man's version of "streamlined."

'fraid not Graskie, two different things. Concorde was streamlined, VC10 was air smoothed.
