Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

What a great link.  Thank you.

I think the tender driven one I had seen was not a Hornby.

I want to buy a new one, DCC ready or fitted but one that is the closest (Colour etc) to 46118 and therefore would be the easiest to make look like 46118.

Sorry Graskie you always say you only run DCC with sound and that you have a couple of rebuilt Royal Scots. I put 2 and 2 together and made 5.

Well, I still have a load of non-sound locos, including those two Royal Scots, WTD, and will either be replacing them as and when with sound versions or having sound fitted, or even just disposing of them.

I shall await your decision Graskie. I did find one with sound on google converted by Olivia's.

Hi WTD, Yesterday I managed to purchase, brand new from a dealer in Cumbria, Royal Scot number 46117 (R3085).  It is DCC ready.  My hope now, is to be able to obtain the items required to convert it to number 46118.

Just tested my latest purchase. It's a 2 car Midlands DMU fitted with directional lights and sound. Great!

Is it just name and numbers you need RDS or is there more to it.

Hi WTD, Just name and numbers will do for me.  I just want to have the Loco I have a picture of, with my Grandad (a Train Driver) in the cab at Blackpool Central Station.  I would then like to be able to purchase some carriages that would have been pulled behind the Royal Scot,  Any ideas what carriages they may have been, including item numbers for Hornby or Blue Box models would be appreciated.
