Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Just 'won' a Fowler 4F - Bachmann 21-pin edition - more detail.

I've been looking out for one for a while. Price no bargain, but fair enough.

Just got the Hornby Class 37 Railroad from TMC. Not fancy, but I like it. Looks good with my elderly Lima Class 37.

Arrived in the post today, 11 pounds & change for the stamps and a couple of pounds to send my way. A nice memento of the Centenary and of Her Majesty as well.

Just received a Bachmann Fowler B.R. 4F 0-6-0 tender locomotive - lovely model.

Already opened up, oiled, crew fitted and run at least 30-40 minutes each way, now hauling 11 LMS coaches on the line, without any problem.

A little lead added to the admirably quite heavy tender, to nearly equal the locomotive, as it would when fully loaded.

An older model today, in very good condition - Bachmann J39.

It's an old model but seems excellent and runs well using the battery test.

The cab is well detailed / moulded but not painted. Time to get a little artistic.

It comes with it's own crew, painted and still in their sealed bag.

I've just taken possession of a Flying Scotsman R.855 LNER loco and coal wagon. I bought carriages to go with it from two separate sellers on eBay and await their arrival along with a controller. There'll be no stopping me then. I definitely have a thing for the heritage locos.

Finally, finally, finally after many years of looking for one I have managed to find a reasonable track mat for my Playcraft Lakeside set, possibly the first complete layout in a box. I need to see if I can get it copied to protect the original.

A gift from a mate as it's too big for his layout. Nice!

I also bought a job lot from him including over 100 wagons and a load of coaches.

That should pull the 100 wagons easily enough - assuming you've a long-enough run!!

Excellent friend and fantastic model.

You're right there about a good friend.

As for wagon pulling, I'm fortunate to have a 40' x 15' room where there will be 4 running loops, so it will be interesting to see what it will pull.
