What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

This might be a bit pathetic to some people but I was really happy to get it. I had one as a child and eventually it fell to pieces. They may still actually be available new, they were until recently.

Anyway, it’s a Budgie push along Jinty which is now on display with my black version of the earlier LMS version (totally different body) and JVM N2.

Another bargain today. My wife bought me a Hornby Princess Elizabeth plus 3 LMS coaches. I noticed something odd about the loco and it was only later on whilst having a good look at it that I noticed the motion is gold.

Seems it's a special edition. Unfortunately, it has no box, but that won't matter as it will be running around on my layout.

Nice, but if the wheel surfaces are gold, it's only very thinly plated and will disappear very quickly with use - your call.

Personally, I'd use it for hours, some put them in a case and smile - your gift, your model!

That looks good.

There used to be a saying about a "Month of Sunday's", which seems to have been replaced with a "Month of Friday's."

I have not been able to work out which Friday is actually Black Friday this year, or last year for that matter!

Thank you. I think Black Friday lasted about a week, but officially was November 25th.

"Sales officially begin a minute past midnight on the Friday morning and will stretch throughout the weekend, before ending at midnight on Monday".

So they say!
