Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Over 500 entries on a thread about what we just bought in a little over a year. We are just a tiny slice of the whole so the hobby can't be struggling that much!

Just completed a SE&CR class 'H' 0-4-4T, using a hacked about D*pol 0-4-2 chassis plus a extra pony truck using spare pony wheels so it looks like an 0-4-4 when really it is an 0-4-2-2! It just goes round second radius curves.

It is carrying a

Hornby Dublo R1 body lengthened and heavily modified, with white-metal chimney, safety valves and Westinghouse air pump, as it is meant to be a push pull fitted example. I have nearly finished a second one, and have enough components for a third. It has been

fully lined out and the varnish is drying as I type this.

This one is in late crest livery so it looks right hauling or propelling the Hornby Maunsell Push Pull set, but the others will be early emblem intending to work the ex LBSCR p&p set I made

from Triang / Hornby short clerestory carriage bodies, and maybe the B'man Birdcage set when it appears next year.

Now to build the DJH D1 I bought at York toyfair.

LNER B1 (R2998X). New one off flea bay.
Had my eye on it for a while.

It was £10 cheaper than a second hand one in "Excellent Boxed Condition" from a well known box shifter.
