Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

I don't enter many auctions nowadays, but like Al, this was a good win.

I like it BB.

Weathering works for me.

Needs those draincocks 'though - makes quite a difference I reckon - admittedly I have to swell them out a little to avoid the bogie wheels.

A3 book law

Purchased as used but doesn't look like it's ever been on the track

Hi

Just brought myself another Wrenn R1 0-6-0T.

This one is a W2203 Silver Shell tank locomotive, no real value as only 1300 were made but it another one for my collection

I've just made a Splendid purchase, to complement Brutus, which has been a real stalwart on my tracks for a couple of years ...

TPE coaches should be arriving within weeks, transport pending, so happy days!!

It's finally here. Not one I particularly wanted, but it'll make a great collectors item.

This thing was also absolutely draped in bubble wrap. I don't know if this is because this is a special limited edition item, or this is just standard practice from Hornby now. If it is indeed the latter, I'm quite impressed, this thing was packaged extremely well. The cardboard box was double wrapped, then the loco box itself was wrapped inside the cardboard box, which all came in another cardboard box. Hats off to Hornby for this one.

I think it's so that you can sell it on for a grand with confidence!

Cynical me. Glad it came and unfortunately I'd have to agree - only one use for it!

From a loco I wasn’t that excited about, to a loco I’m super excited about!

Just got another email from Hornby saying my R3987 9F Evening Star is on its way. This is one of the pre-orders I was most anxious to get.

This is becoming an expensive month..
