Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Oh, yeah!! Bit like going to a model exhibition, saying that you're not going to buy anything, and then arriving home with the car full!!!

The car is empty at the moment! Next purchase is R4538 BR Unconverted Open Second Coach - due out in May. Then, worryingly, the postman needs to be intercepted, almost on a monthly basis.

If you dream it, you can do it.

Went into my local model shop and saw they had super detailed Schools 'Blundells' on significant discount, nearly as cheap as the Railroad version. Ideal candidate for new name and number so I bought it.
At this rate I'll have all forty by 2015.
For

those who are interested the GW eight coupled tanks were in pride of place in the cabinet. Won't be buying them however as they never came on to the Southern and don't fit my collecting policies.

Hi LC&DR

You said recently that you collected Heavy Freight Engines - well, surely these were heavy??Sounds like discrimination to me. Seriously, I've lurking at the back of my mind that I read somewhere that they sometimes got south of Westbury,

which would mean next stop - Salisbury. Mind you, possibly could have been 72XX instead.

However, this is only vaguely in mind, no more than that.

I'm expecting to see your reply to "What is your latest purchase?" as just the Southern Region!!

Meant to ask, does Blundells come with the high tender??

As mentioned elsewhere the 52XX and 42XX
Modelling a combined 00 and 009 gauge Layout (GWR/GVT) mostly

Perhaps I should have qualified my original specifications as 'certain heavy freight engines' i.e. ones I like!

I don't think I will be buying a 2-8-0T or 2-8-2T. I like heavy freight locos and allegedly WR but I have never been keen on WR tank engines.
