Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Certainly is BB.

That 50 was a worry to start with, now its just that pesky coupling - doors, fan and chassis all very good. The nameplates should add something as well.

The 56 is a simply superb runner - just a pity they stopped the functional fan.

No need for a new post - several days' occasional running later, and the '50' Sir Edward Elgar's an absolutely superb runner - what a transformation from static 'buzzing' - wouldn't have believed it possible without 'major surgery' (possible new motor) but so far, all's fine.

Elgar's got his brass plaques / nameplates - carefully cut and trimmed they look great.

Just took advantage of a sale at Rails, and finally purchased another 'target' locomotive last Friday, a Heljan Class 86 - rail blue, 'weathered'.

This afternoon, I just did another Rails deal, and agreed a deal on 5x Bachmann Mk.I Pullmans - should look well on some 'Preservation Specials' I regularly run.

I have always liked the Bachmann Mk1 Pullmans Al. I don't have any, and don't need any, but they would be a nice addition to the collection! BB

Cheers BB. I'd been thinking that the last few months.

Then, I received some 'financial benefit' from a trip abroad / long hours, so after SWMBO was sorted, some additions were made - very selective choice of course and I've been much better than I could have been!!

That Heljan is a superb runner - nice and smooth, nicely detailed, good hauler, and reasonably fast.

I received the Railway Children locomotive this morning. My niece worked on the film and so she took a photo of it to show other crew members. She was fortunate to get a ride on the train too.

I had made a quick film featuring all three of the Railway Children locomotives. (I thnk it takes a day or two for admins to approve video).

@Mikey

I don't think videos are allowed at all. You'll have to publish it on YouTube or similar and post a link to it.
