Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

I think I had one of those in red - would have been in the 1950's.

If you dream it, you can do it.

I had one of the Jinties in red which i think was also done in blue, green and black. That would have been in the late 1960s. From memory the wheels fell off and it probably got thrown away.

Mine probably went will all my other stuff - Hornby Dublo Duchess of Montrose etc., - to a childrens home. We moved house in 1964 - I'd been working for a couple of years, and my mum assumed I would not want any of it any moresleepy

If you dream it, you can do it.

There is one on Ebay for £49.00 - has two wheels (also cast) missing. There is a "?" against "Gaiety".

If you dream it, you can do it.

L&Y, great link thanks. Bulliedboy, that green one on eBay (if it’s the one I think you mean) also has outside cylinders, totally un prototypical!

Also noticed a link to a remind me that the cast Jinty I had was made by Budgie toys. I had the later version with British Railways on the tank side rather than the early LMS one with the huge cab.

A nice Ebay purchase. It was advertised for £125 but nobody bought it. Kept an eye on it, and it was re-advertised at £109.95 so I thought why not. I already have one of these, the second sound loco produced by Hornby, so it will be renamed and numbered. It's shed code is 74E which was St.Leonards nr Hastings. I have a list of names that were shedded there - decisionsblush

If you dream it, you can do it.

Well, that Class 87 001 Hattons bargain arrived on Friday - opened it up, no 'bits', all solid, and what a superb model!!

I've left the protective covers until she arrives home, to maintain the protection.
