Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

Posted at 07:59:15 Tue 19 Mar 2013

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

At a £1 a wagon I just had to snap them up Graskie.

Picked up a stock of Brand new Railroad 0-4-0's at a bargain price, no one else bit at the trade auction.

I still can't work out what your eBay ID is, SoT. Any clues?

I carn't say it here alas Graskie. It's an english county in the east where poppies grow, it's coastal, and it is to do with models. That's all I can say here alas.,

Graskie,
SoT has done everything but name his ID, if you still can't find him I would suggest looking for a Hornby R.2672 loco!

Thanks. I thought it must be something like that but couldn't find it before. I'll keep an eye on it. Mine is, of course, self-explanatory.

I got a micro sound chip for my blue box L&YR 2-4-2 tank and one of those sugar cube speakers. Fitted it this afternoon. Very impressed by the sound from this tiny little speaker and the fact that you can fit it and the decoder in that ridiculously small

space (after spending quite some time with different ways of arranging them!).

These were not easy to find

Hornby Class 142 - Northern Rail Class - Pacer (2 car)

B***man Class 158 - Northern Rail Class - Sprinter

These will be great for shuttling between stations, especially the sidings stations

DC fitted

No lights yet, maybe that will be an up and coming project.
