Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

This was my latest aquisition , but there is another on the way as I type. This is Tornado R3098 Railroad and is one of six Hornby Tornado's I have and I have four of the B word you can't use on here.

Bachmann can be written on here without problem.

The main thing is not PROMOTING other manufacturer's merchandise openly.

I've 2 Bachmann Tornados myself - light and dark green B.R. ones.

A two tone green unnamed class 55 railroad Deltic, tracked down on Monday by Karen at Arcadia, and delivery promised on Wednesday, It arrived on Tuesday, to join my other Railroad Flying Scotsman and blue Mallard on the ECML. Impressed with this loco , I have bought two more, St Paddy, in blue.

@corky

I always liked the Deltic in two tone green. It suits it well.

Looks nice in grey.

Just did what I shouldn't - had a little browse of 'that auction site' and found one of my childhood realscale favourites - a Class 40 which needs a little cautious work to make perfect.

I made an offer, and it was instantly accepted.

It was a reasonable amount under the base asking price, but an agreement so soon sort of puts you off, thinking 'perhaps I should have tried for more'.

Nevertheless, my 2nd Bachmann Class 40 will be winging its way to me very shortly.

Just 'won' a newer-generation, factory weathered Bachmann Class 40 - directional lights, 12WD, for a good price.

Good price mainly through an inherent fault - 2 of the 21 pins for decoder / blank were bent, so non-operational.

Part of my 'childhood' these locomotives, so held in high regard, and an excellent model.

Just brought two more Lima Class 87 with working pantographs

87005 City of London in BR Blue

87018 Lord Nelson in Intercity Livery, think that will do me for now

I will have to work out what coaches and other modern rolling stock I will need to add to what I have got to make up a few realistic passenger and fright trains

I've been trying to expand my fleet of East Anglian steam era locos for a while, but I have been looking for something a bit more unusual, so I occasionally searched online for some kit-built models that aren't available ready to run. It turns out they are just like buses - you wait ages then several come along all at once. Kit-built models can be very expensive, especially for rarer classes that are not available ready to run, but these all came in at well under £100 each. First up, a Bec J17 0-6-0 tender loco. It had a poor triang jinty chassis, so I am in the process of replacing it with a newer Railroad Jinty chassis plus fitting pick-ups to the tender.
