Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Good job!!

The Class 25 I purchased the other week - older, non-lit Bachmann - is in superb condition but was missing it's handrails.

£5 was all that was needed. Bachmann responded the same morning, sent them the same day.

They're very fine white painted plastic ones, on sprues. I'd trimmed all carefully without issue, except one was already broken.

I mentioned to Bachmann, and same day, they sent a free replacement pack.

Always bemused how Bachmann can do this and ..... ah well, broken record.

Gaugemaster 00 gauge networkrail liveried track cleaning wagon, note, it is very heavy and needs a powerful loco to pull it

I've liked this Porterbrook livery ever since I saw it in the flesh so to speak and although it doesn't fit my period, (either GW/WR steam or BR blue diesels), I couldn't resist.

@Al......are you sure you mean 'bit of spare' 'cos in my teenage years in the 1950s that expression did not refer to money. blush Maybe a 'bit to spare' is more appropriate grinning.......HB

Just fresh today, on my birthday no less, a second-hand split-chassis Bachmann Thompson B1, No. 1040 Roedeer in LNER lined black with shaded lettering/numbering; just need to get it fixed up now.

Split chassis?

I purchased a Mayflower, and had to get axle centres - runs acceptably but those plastic isolating axle centres are a pain - at least the quartering's easy!
