Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

It appears I've the incorrect Westinghouse pump - the smaller #8 is more correct, without fins.

Scottie won't be modified - it would require major changes to the LHS deflector as well, which I'm not capable of doing to an adequate standard, but also I'm not a fan of the modification - I like the cleaner lines of the original pre-pump deflector.

Can't wait for the Lord Nelson .... !!

I called into Homebase and for a couple of £s grabbed a metre length of boring square plastic tube 25 mm x 25 mm external dimensions.  I shall slice it up and make speaker enclosures with it when my new razor saw turns up.

Two boxes containing brass and whitemetal loco detailing items (chimneys, safety valves, cylinder blocks, snifting valves whistles vac pipes and so on) and wheels of all sizes so that I can upgrade my roster of locos. That's my evenings and weekends sorted for the next 6 months or more.

Just ordered the following with birthday money.

Dapol - ex Airfix of course - Meat Van, 2 x Cattle Wagons and a Presflow. Quite like theses kits as it is a model to construct and to be used on the railway.

Bauxite paint for the above

3 PECO rail built buffer stops.

Hornby BR Maroon 12 wheel dining car. Hornby site says it is era 5 so I hope it will be fine with Hornby BR MK1s in Maroon.

My birthday tomorrow - so have ordered and received the xmas hamper 2 set. I checked the loco works - but the rest is for tomorrow!

My layout is the garage - but will be put away for the winter soon, so about another two weeks of running for me.

Ten x ESU speakers in enclosures to be wired in series pairs as they are each 4-Ohm.

Also a yard length of 25 x25mm square plastic extrusion from Homebase to chop into 1” lengths to make into speaker enclosures for some bare speakers I have laying around. Enough to last me forever for a couple of quid.
