Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

They could be doing the nighthift. That seems more possible, than working from home.

My bet is working from home. Many people are.

I've had it for a week as well - the Jubilee.

Kolhapur has been detailed for a week now - I decided to fit the extra windows, as well as the obligatory engine crew.

WtD, I've brought out my Evening Star - Bachmann - out of reference to it having been her 60th birthday today - 4 days after my own as it happens!!

That distance between the locomotive and tender isn't far off the close coupled distance anyway.

Just looked back, and back, and back ... turns out the Class 58 photos were finally posted ... on page 421!!!

They did get there after all - excellent locomotive model.

Great pictures, Al.   About spelling that name, why not remember "Coal-have-pure" as a reminder ? Laughing

I love the fact it has taken 50+ years for a rival manufacturer to catch up with Tri-ang and opening smokebox doors.

It's an absolute beauty!!

So much so I've been trying to get one for 2 years - pricing has been ridiculous on the Jubilees and particularly this one.

The only thing wrong was the missing handrail on the tender - a 'spare' A4 tender kindly donated a handrail which I managed to trim to just too long without realising, which permitted the tension I required.

The 'problem' with the smokebox is they could have done something with the tubes and blastpipe - might see if I can do something there!!

It's all just a plain moulding.
