Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Great image Brian (walkingthedog). Thank you. Wink Smile

That's not City of Truro, on the top shelf, is it?

I did not know you had one, Brian (walkingthedog). I would love one.

As it's on display, can't you close-couple the 9F ?

I always love the look of a close coupled loco / tender - if possible.

Interesting mix of retained locomotives.

It's not coupled, I'd only just put it in the cabinet and shoved the tender roughly in place to show Jacob. Got to give them a good dust then 'pose' them properly.

I'm guessing you have kept some OO gauge track, to run those four locomotives that you have kept, Brian (walkingthedog)?

I have just received the new. Princess Marie Louise and fitted the TTS decoder.

It is a work of art, the flickering firebox is most convincing, and the sounds most impressive.

I already have five of the previous incarnations and they are not disgraced by any means.

A bit pricey, but you get what you pay for.

Well done Hornby.

Have just received a new armature from Peter's Spares for my ailing R155 Tri-ang Switcher. Excellent service.  So far, I have managed to get the Switcher to move 3 inches before tripping the controller. The little yellow beast moved in the wrong direction so I realised I had fitted the wheels incorrectly and had to start over again.  But still struggling with re-assembly esp. inserting the new brushes. What a fiddly nightmare ! Yell -- does anyone know of an easy method to fit these brushes ?  Tongue Out  I wonder how it was done when the loco was made.
