Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

My latest two to enter the 'shed'.

little and large, I am looking for a small face off the Thomas range to stick on the front of the 48 DS shunter.I will use 'buddy stick'.It will look quite cute pulling the Christmas wagons for the little ones this Christmas.

Another face on the Flying Scotsman would make 'Jock' a very smart proud engine on the Sodor layout.

Only joking that one is destined for the 'cool wall'.

Got me one of these at Great Eastern Digital Day - at a nice discount for being a ‘helper’.

Now to build something to hang it on.

Is that 2019's new gold plated limited edition double tendered Flying Scotsman release?

My two most recent puchases are, to join my collection of 'Hornby Year Wagons' which I hope to complete the set eventually, which Hornby started releasing yearly, back in 1992. These are the following:

X1 Hornby Railways R.6046 Hornby 1998 Wagon - Curtain Sided Van

X1 Hornby R6323 Hornby 2006 Wagon - 8 Plank End Tipping Open Wagon

Both are used, undamaged, complete and boxed! Neither wagons were overpriced either, so I am happy.

I have 3 engines on pre-order and I am intrigued which I will get first,

  • Hornby - air smothed Merchant Navy - Aberdeen Commonwealth
  • KR Models GT3 with DCC suund
  • Dapol/Rals SECR d class as preserved by the NRM

I am intrgued because this list is in the order I purchased them.  I am surprised that the Hornby loco is taking so long where the GT3 is made by somebody in Canada in their workshop, and the D Class will be made in the UK (mostly)

so to miss quote @AugustusCeasar on this forum where is my Merchant Navy?

Some more of my recent buys, R6933 & R6934, both Coco-Cola wagons. They go with my Christmas Cooc-Cola set. Strange, bought those from a model shop, and they are for sale on Ebay, but not for sale on Hornby site. They are not shown as new arrivals, but as coming soon.
