What's your latest aquisition?


Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Holland-Afrika Line is in the shops - two months early. Mine's in the post. A friend had just collected his.

My shop rang about an hour ago to say they had just arrived. I will have a Happy Easter now after all. Better than just hanging around.

Brighton Evening Argus, slight disappointment with no lights as it is pulling coaches that do have them! No worries will have to take a look on how to fit cabin

and direction light.

Hornby Sandringham, Butler Henderson, some old GF LNER stock new in box (not actually prototypical but they have something about them), bits and pièces to upgrade older models (such as smoke box handles) and C....d slow point motors with polarity switching

that are the easiest to fit, well thought out and the cheapest. They are also reliable according to people I know who installed them a while ago. The forthcoming Hush-Hush in its more detailed version is high on my list (impressive machine and LNER....)

Just had to get the Scaledale City Dry Cleaners - it is so like a building I was trying to scratch build it will save me the difficulty (particularly as its on the far side of the layout with another house in front!

All I have to do is add a window,

a chimney, repaint the roof Change the shop type and possibly render the walls!
Modelling a combined 00 and 009 gauge Layout (GWR/GVT) mostly

Just picked mine up today. If it works OK I'll be getting rid of my non-sound R2528 35019 "French Line".
