Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

Posted at 07:59:15 Tue 19 Mar 2013

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Couldn't resist the Dukedog and figured while I was at it City of Bath too. Added a couple of Hornby Sapphire decoders for them too. I've tried many different non sound decoders are the Sapphire is in my opinion the best.

This past weekend at Valley Forge? I was there and got some Bachmann buildings.

At the show in Valley Forge? I was there and picked up a few things as well. Some great layouts

there, too.

Latest acquisition arrived this morning. It's from the other guys and it's the Earl in GWR livery. Splendid job they've done on this one, runs a treat.
Now I am normally a NER/LNER man but this is not a betrayal, just a soft spot for 4-4-0's and Atlantics.
Hornby,

please make us a Klondyke!

Hi Rayarpino

I'd rather have the B16

I'll second that. You can have a B16 if you buy the Klondyke first....Announced in 2020 and released for sale in 2050 fitted with NIC (Nuclear Independent Control and the added bonus of electronically controlled working buffers)

I currently have fifteen loco's on pre-order, all southern region - barring two. Don't think I can call them latest acquisitions. I will report back between now and December 2014 to see where we are.
If you dream it, you can do it.

This one's for LC&DR - Pull Push Coach Packs R4534A and R4534B are due by the end of February - have you got your pre-order in?
If you dream it, you can do it.

I'm in no rush. By December 2014 we should be awaiting the 2015 releases - maybe an original Merchant Navy, but then

again the blue box company may have already produced it?
If you dream it, you can do it.
