Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Again, apologies to Jimbo, the USA tank is in BR black, late crest.  Have to report that I fitted the sound card and speaker, worked beautifully, then......what’s that ‘orrible smell?  Totally shorted out!!  Will speak to supplier tomorrow, but am not hopeful of a positive outcome.  They include a leaflet describing how these occurrences happen.  I thought I had insulated everything, as recommended, but we will see.  When it did work, the sound was great lol.  Will post a picture separately

edit.  Just tried to download picture taken on my iPad, message says ‘not allowed’  oh dear

Apple now saves its image files as some type that the rest of the world can’t use, so here is how to get round it.

Use your iPad with the Home button on the right, else your pictures will post inverted.

Open a picture of choice on your iPad photos area, then send it to files using the box icon with an arrow pointing up. Save it into say Akrobat and note the image (xxx.img) number allocated to it.

In the forum use the black and white icon and from the dialogue box select Browse, go to Files and scroll to your image, click oK and it will load onto the forum.

WTD - thank you!!

No ideas why there isn't dust - our house has plenty!!

Must admit I love that shot of the R2687 Scottie cab!!

I've got a bit carried away with the streamlined Coronations - here's a few 'group photos'.

The 'shed is just a few rails with a couple of engine sheds on a shelf in the garage - meant to inspire me ....

Yes, there is a bit of 'soot' on the previous generation Coronations - don't think I'll be doing that to DoH - not just yet anyway!!

Great gathering Al, interesting variation in paint shades And the left hand blue one looks to be half a gauge larger, maybe due to camera angle.

I see what you mean - just the phone camera and proximity / angle I reckon.

@Bulver

My commiserations on the damage to your new USA tank. Very frustrating, esp. in view of the high cost involved. Cry

Thanks for posting a picture, which I look  forward to seeing  (without smoke !).

Thanks Rob, for the picture info.  I decided to use my phone (Samsung) to take photo.  Now hope that it displays properly ( on Monday, of course).  And Jimbo, the chip supplier (YooChoos) was extremely helpful.  Have sent it back to them for inspection, they will contact me next week to discuss.  But looks promising, fingers crossed.

Anyway, hope that the picture will come out ok now.

Thanks, Bulver for the photo. Lovely little loco. I am still dreaming of one of these USA tanks. The sharpness of the photo could maybe have been improved by floodlighting. I am being critical. Sorry.  Some of the photos posted by members are fantastically sharp, which makes me envious a bit. Sealed

Just sold a few more 'less-preferred' locomotives and have received R3330 King George V - very nice.

All detailing now added, plus loco crew and hook replaced with Hornby metal 3-link at the front.

What a nice locomotive - from a non-biased railway fan (so many are GWR or nothing!!).

Couple of Ebay photos.

Rails was the source via that 'auction site'.
