Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

I got the last R3000 in the pre-Xmas rush from Hornby, which is a late crest B1. Sorry PP.

The two wagons are now finished (GWR Mink A and container flat truck). The Mink carries GWR decals but I painted the container a dark blue. Having managed to locate "Mabex" transfers I have now applied "Pickfords" decals and it looks really good!

Hi RAF96

Don't lose any sleep over it (I know you won't!!!) I left it quite late to order and it was in the sale, so I'm not complaining.

The new 'Railroad Mark 1s are rather good. They run extremely smoothly on the plastic wheels, no doubt because the axles are metal, a trick used by the old Airfix carriages with some success. The paint finish is excellent and the moulding is crisp and

clear. The windows are nicely flush, all in all an excellent product, especially if you consider the very reasonable price (I paid £14-96 each).

I now keenly await the Crimson and Cream and Green ones.

Just got a Hornby Triang BR Blue Hymek diesel, a very sweet runner with a motor that looks like a brick , only cost $20 or 10 quid UK and is in close to mint condition.

After further study I find that the underframes are each different for the different bodies, so that the footboards are correctly positioned under the doors. Nice touch Hornby.

1. the Blue box teams shunters truck (I wanted one with the straight stanchions) - feels more flimsy than the Hornby one so if you want sloping stanchions or not bothered, I would recommend the Hornby one.

2. LMS CCT very nice model.

3. County

of Flint

4. Mainline 43XX (BR lined green) I hope to "turn back the clock" on this one by removing the outside steam pipes, smokebox door number plate and replace the uni-cycling ferret with GREAT (Garter) WESTERN. May even fit a copper capped chimney!
Modelling a combined 00 and 009 gauge Layout (GWR/GVT) mostly
