Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Thanks WTD!!

One slight disappointment is that the Lion, superb as it is, had no detail kit.

I'm guessing there are etched plates to go over the transfer?

I've obviously got couplings from the others I can use - only intend coupling up one end, once sorted and the locomotive arrived with all pipes connected, so would only be some spares.

All general parts are available from Howes.

Don't know which is my favourite, to be honest.

Years ago (40, when still a teenager!!), I had a 4mm scale drawings Ian Allen book, and was fascinated by all 3, particularly Kestrel, for it's power and speed ...

I like Lion for its totally ludicrous selection of livery - white, on a loco? !!

Great minds indeed - definitely great locomotives and if they're half as good as my Westerns, 33's and Hymek, they'll be as fantastic in operation as they are to look at!!

Al.

Detail kit? Does it need one, mine has all the pipes attached. I thought it was already detailed. I did add etched name plates but I always do what ever loco I buy, if it has a name.
