Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Set of Nut Spinners, as found out to my dismay, that almost every manufacturer uses different sizes for their con rods.

@ atom 3624      Super photos, Al.  The Falcon immediately took my eye (no pun!) and I am tempted. I trust I have identified it correctly. I have just been running my Kestrel and am always impressed by its smoothness and pulling power.

If you want a 'white' Heljan loco, why not consider the Lion.

Some of our nice old prototype locos remind me of when our prototype aircraft led the world. Nowadays it seems to be - follow the multi-nstional porridge product - with no real iconic products to marvel over in years to come.

That’s the problem Rob, everything is designed by computer so they all look the same. Has anybody let a computer design a steam loco. Would be interesting.

I find very amusing that Brian (walkingthedog) and atom3624, have both bought the same three locomotives, at more or less the same time.

By the way, great images from both of you. Smile

Not quite Jacob. I got mine years ago. Just pointing out that he has great taste.
