What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Three SR R.10 open wagons, one of which is mint, great as I have empty boxes for them. Also some spare parts, a couple of old curved points, some yellow 4mm dots for marking bags of parts I have put on my system, a Tri-ang water tower which arrived broken, R.209 Princess Royal Open wagon, Murgatroyd tanker, box for a BR black Tri-ang M7, R.258AS Princess LIz in LMS livery, and a 8 pin harness decoder from a well known model shop as I had run out of Hornby ones.

I don't model or collect from a particular era and just buy any locomotives I like at the time. I had a look at the Hattons sale and was really impressed with this one so I got someone to treat me. That's 1 strike gone for Christmas!

I bought some more Skaledale Cotswold Stone Walling - not sure that I need it, but it was cheap. I bought the coaching stock for the new Brighton Belle a couple of months ago, so I suppose I need the R3606 Driving/Trailer cars at some time, but there's no rush.

If you dream it, you can do it.

Nice purchases, Caiptean. I have a Hornby Adams Radial too. It's very nice and very detailed.

Caiptean/Colin - A while back you mentioned you had been speaking to Kernows and they had tried to temp you into buying one of there 02 loco's. What I couldn't say at the time (a voluntary embargo requested by Kernows until 31/10/18), was, that if you had bought one when originally released, they were offfering a second one at a greatly reduced price - this was a version (black/late crest) that had not sold well - so that is why I bought a second one. I notice that one of the range is currently on offer at a £25 reduction on the normal price - so if your still tempted! Barry/BB

Found this little beauty, not many about of the NCB version of the Dowlais Tank loco., they are very collectable now. I just happen to have a box in storage for it so it will be a boxed minter.
