Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Looks like all of the 'streamliners' I'm running at the moment have given me an 'A4 thing' !!

I found an purchased a fantastic looking Sir Nigel Gresley yesterday - fully streamlined in LNER blue - would be nice if it were without the fully enclosed splashers - never mind.

For some reason, I've always liked the 'splasher removed' BR green Mallard I had 40 years ago - it was tender drive which I liked at the time - much prefer modern locomotive drive now.

I found Guillemot this morning and just had to get it - so that's 4 A4's I have now - only consolation is it's that same as the number of Coronations I have!!

Got to bear in mind the Coronations, and of course the West Country / BoB / MN's, then there's all of the Britannias - another favourite ....

Aim to finish the best (A4) first and then the Stanier pacifics - only 38 of them - 3 distinct groups   Laughing

Latest purchase has been white boxes.  For some time I have been packing and barcoding spares from my piles of old spare parts.

Went to a railway fare yesterday. Managed to pick up a Hornby Intercity MK3 coach and two Fisons horrticulture wagons...not sure what pulls them though!

My stock of spare parts are slowly being sorted into white storage boxes, barcoded and put onto pc. At the moment the S series parts are taking priority.

I picked up a mint condition boxed R862 M7 from our local train show, a very nice runner that will be DCC fitted in the next couple of days

SoT - takes time but so much easier once things are organised - I know a little of what it's like.

Wild Swan is going to join the fold as well - definitely stopping until next year, apart from repairs.
