Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Would it help if I sent you an umbrella, c/o the NRM?

The consistent part of the English Language!!
Hoof - Hooves
Roof - Roofs

Mouse - Mice
House - Houses

Still, the Aussies and the Americans speak a form of English so it can't be too bad (Sorry Fishy. Sorry to the North Americans

although we don't seem to have seen a lot of them lately)

It is 'hissing' down at the moment so much so it has woken me up so I can start fretting! I can hear all manner of drips which I hope is simply rain off the scaffolding, but an umbrella may be an essential!

I was told last night that the Danish railways are considering using English as their operational language. This is because trains are being driven over their tracks by Swedish and German drivers who do not speak Danish, but a lot of them speak English.

There

is a parallel to this because the operating language of Eurotunnel is French, even in Folkestone! When I went for a job interview with them it was conducted entirely in French. Needless to say I did NOT get a position with Eurotunnel!
