Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

That explains a lot.  Golden age,  do make some beautiful models, but boy you better have deep pockets.

If it’s not Crimson, it isn’t a proper engine

Hi Dynax.

I stand by what I said earlier  -  it's smashing. You wouldn't see much behind, unless you had the front seats!

The front seats were probably monopolised by children--- and cats Smile. Anyway, as we mostly remember, people were much shorter in those days and the 'beaver tail' front was doubtless to protect against the hot English sun (which we also seem to remember !).

I just got a great bargain from Sheffield, a B12 61576 for £124. There are some good offers today in Widnes. It looks like a bit of a clear out.

had a reply email from GAM, and there are 4 very small very well hidden screws in the chassis of the beavertail coach, so i won't have to dremel it to fit figures and lighting Laughing

Nice water tower, WTD. I know I've said this a lot, but I love your layout. It's so well detailed. I love it! Smile
