Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

My latest buy is 4 Transcontinental series two bright silver Canadian National Livery, two are good, two have had their interiors messed with, Diner had a short pullman interior put in the passinger car had a short blue passinger interior put in place of the correct one.  Also brought 2 CN Black bogie tankers and a CN caboose, which has been modified with working battery operated lights.

What's with needing all these water crane's, TsoT? I have one and to me, for the size of the layout, that is plenty. Smile

Forgot to say that I found my club £15 voucher and used that towards the decoder, so that eased the pain a little!

My layout plan has four loco depots Gordon, it is an adaptation of an old Hornby plan.  The main shed is a six road shed plus two storage roads, each road has a water crane, main station platform ends also have water cranes as well and the smaller 4 road shed has cranes for each road, the two small sub sheds have a crane each, the freight quarry branch has one as had the good route and then theres the top level super 4 layout, there are six water towers in the design. It soon adds up.  Here's the original plan, plan 17 from the 4th edition track plans book.  I have done away with the first radius curves abd return loops, the up and over section is an entrance and exit to an overhead super 4 double track route and a branch line.

Jacob, it's impossible to have too many water cranes. I seem to have aquired a 'few' due to buying joblots of general spares from ebay.
