Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

Posted at 07:59:15 Tue 19 Mar 2013

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Just can't resist lying in bed and operating the round-the-walls DC track !  These two little blighters also give me some options for the lighting. Never felt lazy before. Innocent

My two sets of Kernows Gate Stock Carriages arrived today, but I've been busy today, and as yet have not had time to open the parcel - a treat for tomorrow.

Hopefully you will not be disappointed; they are superb!

Will be interested in your comments!  Smile

I think they look very good, in fact superb. I have no concerns whatsoever (as do certain Forums!) whether there is rivet missing underneath - I am not an expert, as are some (supposedly) - this is a hobby, and if I like it, that's good enough for me.

If you dream it, you can do it.

I Like it Jimbopuff  !!

Those remote control sockets are great.

Have you got any more pictures of the layout?

If you are lying in bed what about this?

Thankyou. I can't help thinking there is some video trickery somewhere ! Laughing Though the bareness of the layout seems to contradict this.

@ olly85  Thanks Olly. I will try to drum something up.. Maybe post under a new heading. A pity we cannot post videos other than links to YouTube etc. I am somewhat ashamed to admit I have not yet mastered posting a LIVE link. Have notes how to do it though. Not rocket science I am sure.Undecided

The sun unusually is shining up illuminating the top of the door. You can no longer believe anything you see on a video or photo.

Box of bits from Peters Spares including a Class 58 motor bogie which will hopefully replace the troublesome Class 56 ringfield bogie I have struggled with for years.
