Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

@Howbiman Caiptean

Thanks for the comments. I would say it is the best Hornby model I have purchased, runs very smooth and quiet.

After posting in another thread that it would be impossible to get a rear bogie for a Tri-ang Baltic tank............I got one and at a very reasonable price too! I also got some parts to repair a Tri-ang EM2 motor bogie so won't have to cannibalise one of my Hymeks. Great when things work out,

Good bargain there, Jeff. There are many seller's; who want around £4.99 per wagon and another couple of quid for postage. You spent less than £5.00 on the price of the wagon's and on postage. That was a very good bargain you have there. Well done. Smile

It's  big and red and called 'Sir William Stanier' stunning model and the livery is just gorgeous!

If it’s not Crimson, it isn’t a proper engine

Mjb looks like it will have to be Hattons at £189. Rails have sold out so they can advertise a price as low as they like. Laughing
