Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

a good friend came to visit and let his latest acquisitions stetch their legs!

Stretch their legs? You mean stretch their wheels! Laughing Smile

I just got a big box of early Tri-ang chassis parts (no motors unfortunately) for very little money which will enable me to repair a plunger princess and the next version with the mk2 motor. There are also some other parts which may be Grafar or Hornby Dublo, mainly pony trucks but it will be a week or so before I have time to fully go through everything. That will keep me busy for a while! Almost as good as the box of 20+ Tri-ang power bogies I got once from a car boot sale. I have never seen anything like that before or since.

I have no idea why it has put multiples of their post. Does anyone know how to delete them all?

Well just an update on my collection of ICI Methanol tankers from Hornby. I today managed to spot another number 310 for sale S/H so I now have 14 versions for a train or two 31,32,33,34,300,301,303,308,309,310,311,312,313 &315. A couple are my renumbering with very careful use of a paintbrush and the odd bit of transfer.

Spurious thought - I've not bought ANYTHING for my railway, for nearly a year.

The only work-in-progress is the self-powered radio-controlled t66 with the track-cleaning car!

A Soundtrax Econami 21 pin British Steam sound decoder and Zimo Dumbo Speaker.........thought I would get one to compare with Hornby TTS and ESU Loksound V4.0 decoders.........it was installed into a Patriot 4-6-0 loco..........there are many options available to enable best sound choice ie.....light, medium or heavy chuff,......... 2,3 or 4 cylinders and, importantly, ability to synchronise the chuff rate.........a comprehensive list of CVs for various fine tuning if desired.........on a par with the Loksound decoders and much more scope than the TTS .......the price at £67 is between the two others and fills a gap admirably.........the sound quality through the Zimo Dumbo speaker is tremendous, in fact was so loud until volume reduced to a comfortable level........Smile.... .HB

A part built K's Auto Copach kit. Fortunately not too far built to have any obvious problems. However the Glazing has been stuck in so I will have to work out how to remove it cleanly so I can spraupiunt the model.

Interestingly it seems to have no floor let alone any seats so I will have to make those (probably a 3D print.

Modelling a combined 00 and 009 gauge Layout (GWR/GVT) mostly
