Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Earlier this week I received one of the 1948 Olympic limited edition train packs that were in the recent Hornby sale. At the price they were going for I basically got two premium range Gresley teaks fro free!

p.s. re Graskie & walkingthedog, I thought

Deltics were largely ECML locos (unless they were re-allocated later in their life).

I know, WTD. I never intended it to be read that they ever were. We used to see "The Deltic" then, and in fact we used to boo it because we had seen it so many times. The cry used to go out, "Deltic!" in a rather disappointed way. It was the original "Deltic"

we saw. I know now that the later Deltic class members worked the ECML.

The 'blue' DELTIC was built in 1955 as a privately owned demonstration locomotive. It spent many months on the London Midland and Eastern regions, before it was withdrawn in 1960. It was then moved into the Science Museum in South Kensington.

The

'LMS Twins' 10000 and 10001 retained the black livery with aluminium lining until about 1956 when they were painted in BR dark green with orange and black lining.

The SR 1Co-Co1 trio were also painted black with aluminium lining until 1956 when they

were painted in the same style as 10000 & 10001. The 10000 and 10201 series locomotives spent time on both the Southern and London Midland regions and finished their days at Willesden shed. Withdrawal dates were 10000 1963, cut up 1968, 10001 1966, cut up

1966, 10201 to 10203 1963 cut up 1968.

What detail differences are there beside colour scheme? They are technically not suitable to run double headed in those liveries.

I was considering 2 B versions in green as I already have the D version of 10001 in black with LEL.

So far as the five early main line diesels. After the early trials in the late 1940s they tended to be used singly and rarely ran in multiple thereafter.
