Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

7 mm by the looks of the size,  Tommas the Tank engine.

Needs a repaint and new wheels........

Or I could just eat it.

Being made of chocolate.

If it’s not Crimson, it isn’t a proper engine

A boxed EFE Ribble Leyland PD2 from a stall at the Kirkby Stephen bus fair - £8.00. Decent day out riding around on old buses between there and Brough and looking around the old East station.

I bought this for £10.50. Mint Unused

In 1999 I got my first train set...One of the Hornby Industrial Freightmaster ones. I still have it to this day, it contained the same loco (albeit in a different livery) and three wagons.

Absolutely love it, will never get rid of it.

This seems to be a new loco with the new type can motor. Can't get used to there being no noise when running it! All my other locos are oldies and noisies!

On the way to assembling a rake of LMS coaches I got this one for £4.20. It was sold on EBay as lacking hooks. So I easily swapped bogies from the end of a couple of guard's coaches and now have a nice coach at a price I like - bargain basement. Wink

Arrived today, R3285TTS LNER class A4, 'Gadwall', purchased new from Rails of Sheffield.  Very smooth runner so far, sound is good (to my dodgy ears).  Will possibly add enhanced lettering and numbers if I can get up the courage to try it!  I know other members of the forum have done it successfully, so will consider it.

You don't get the smell of the old motors either!  :-(

Called into Monk Bar Models today, and treated myself to a R3435 21C3 "Royal Mail". Strictly speaking a Western Division engine but it looked so good ............
