Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

Posted at 07:59:15 Tue 19 Mar 2013

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Just taken delivery of a pre-ordered Hattons 48XX not sure of the number, it may be 4825 (Have to get my magnifyer to it!). Hope to test it early this week and allocate it's ID.

Sorry Hornby did not know about the re-released railroad 14 when I ordered.

Modelling a combined 00 and 009 gauge Layout (GWR/GVT) mostly

A Re-Magnetiser, - I should have had one YEARS ago!!

It had given a new lease of life to my Hornby Dublo R1.

They are a great bit of kit LCDR.

It was my birthday recently and my parents bought me the 'Going Home' Train Pack (R3299). My LMS fleet is now four locomotives strong. Smile

I fitted the front NEM coupling to Ayrshire Yeomanry. I'm also considering fitting the front steps to her, but I have a second radius inner oval, which might be too tight for steps, and I'm not sure if I'll need to use poly cement instead of PVA to fit them.

What is the cost of a re-magnetiser?

So that's where I left it.

My latest is some Ratio fence, 3 yard cranes (not 3 yards long but 3 cranes for a goods yard), 2 fork lift trucks and some sacks, barrels and pallets.

My latest is three brand new American Atlas N scale locos which will be rebuilt into BR Blue diesels Class's 18, 38 and 48, yes they don't exist but they do on my freelance layout.

They are not cheap. I got mine through membership of the HRCA so my price was a member's price,
