Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Belated 50th wedding gift from my lovely lady (only belated because the model I chose wasn't scheduled to appear on time!) was the Black Label A4, lovely looker, haven't had a chance to run it yet.  I am one lucky chap

Another Pannier tank, this time a Graham Farish OO gauge model, in GWR green.  Lovely runner, hopefully this one's motor stays intact!  Having said that, the Hornby is now running well with the motor transplant.  Thing is, the Hornby model is relatively easy to find spares for, not so sure about the GF, haven't checked the state of the brushes yet........

The Farrish OO pannier that I have (and at least one other I've seen) seems to have a modifies Hornby Doublo R1 chassis. would others know if this was truee for all of them?

If this is the case it may be possible to use Wrenn or Doubleo spares.

I've just received an Airfix (blue box with compact tension lock couplings) John Arnold wagon. I chose this version as I want the compact tension lock couplings and tiny spring steel strips to link two of the later GMR and Mainline B sets together.

I also wanted to do the same for a pair of Hornby B set but notice that the bogie has been re-tooled so it soesnt have the holder for the spring so will need to re-think that pair

Had to go into Sainsburys this morning to get SWMBO some flour, she likes Sainsbury's basics flour. While in there I saw the 2017 Hornby catalogue - so I bought it.

I like the detailed description of the new models.

A pile of motors for my next project.  Thinking of making a good J70 tram loco for the marketplace.

This will be the power unit for the model.

R6731 & R6731A LMS 20 Ton Coke Hopper Wagons.

Lovely models. Very pleased.

Replacement speedo cable X9091.

and Buffer set X8075 which contains two sets of tender buffers. The two smaller ones may pass as replacements on some N wagons :-)

Today's purchase 407 S.1061 Loco body screws.  They fit the Tri-ang, Tri-ang-Hornby and Hornby (1970's) class 101 dmu, and the double ended transcontinental diesel loco.

Latest addition to the £10 pullman. A late issue Jane has arrived, odd tiny bits of linning missing and a tiny part of one crest. Another 99p special! The wheelsets are going to be replaced with the finerscale white rimmed Tri-ang-Hornby wheels issued in 1971.

That's what I call a bargain. I'm a great fan of these "shorty" Pullmans, esp. the ones with the closed axle boxes. So easy to change to finescale wheels. Also so easy to get the roof off fo internal improvements.
