Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Thats a very impressive collection Vespa. Its a shame to stop 3 locos short of the entire collection but i see where your comming from with the new prices. In Oz you wont get a new Brit for less the $360 aud thats what they want for TH down here at the moment and future releses will go up in price id imagine. I paid $180 from RoS, its the cheapest loco ive ever bought, no wonder the model shops down here are disappearing.

I am actually 21 short of the whole class but I have 3 versions of 70000 Britannia. The 3 I would like to do are the Firths and the unnamed 70047. The Firths being Solway Firth and Moray Firth.

Its times like this where you just need a LIKE tick rather than having to post an actual NICE LOCO.

Another Pannier tank, this time a Graham Farish OO gauge model, in GWR green.  Lovely runner, hopefully this one's motor stays intact!  Having said that, the Hornby is now running well with the motor transplant.  Thing is, the Hornby model is relatively easy to find spares for, not so sure about the GF, haven't checked the state of the brushes yet........

R9289 No.2 Edward the blue engine and R9290 No.5 James the red engine. WD and LCDR as mentioned previously Hornby would not sell Thomas and Friends to Aus but Hattons did. They also had similar prices to Hornby's winter sale.
