Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

My latest acquisition is the R3398 'Lyme Regis Branch Line' Train Pack which arrived yesterday. It's fantastic. The quality of the models, the packaging and presentation is first class. This is my ninth Adams 'Radial' having collected the Oxford Rail versions aswell as Hornby's and the plan is to collect the other 4 as they are released next year. I retire in 8 days time and I'm planning on fulfilling a lifetime's ambition to model Lyme Regis station where I lived as a child and as I remember it in the late 1950's up until closure in 1965. I can just remember travelling as a child with my parents behind  Adams 'Radial's and I've waited a lifetime for someone to produce r-t-r models of this beautiful little loco. This latest model looks fantastic and runs like a dream. I'm not a rivet counter - it looks right to me. Someone will probably find fault with it but I'm happy just to watch them pulling the rolling stock of the period. First job is to add a figure in the leading Lyme Regis coach of a little boy looking out of the window!

Before I forget - thankyou Hornby staff for the excellent service you have given this year in quick and safe deliveries and a massive thankyou to whoever came up with introducing the 'Radial's into Hornby's range in 2016. THANKYOU.

As well as DODO, my preordered Manchester Ship Canal Pecket came along with two Heljan 1370 panniers (one was an order that I thought I'd cancelled! All this after I'd got a good deal on two point decoders (the latter @ 30% off list price!)

As a result I will not be buying anything major for at least the next two months unless more pre-orders come in (Please Hornby don't relerase Kinight of St Patrick before Easter!)

I sympathise!

SWMBO sometimes asks "have you a parcel coming?" and I try to answer that truthfully (well nearly always!) . However in the week before Christmas I forgot what I may have on pre-order, and what with Hornby and others suddenly releasing some new stuff the postie or the courier van turns up by surprise and I am in the dog house for the rest of the day!  The postie then adds to my embarassment by telling her - "This must be your Christmas present" . Embarassed

Dodo and Manchester Ship Canal arrived Christmas Eve. Lovely looking models.

Now just need chipping before I can run them because I'm only DCC.

A job for later this week when I've finished all my tasks allocated to me by SWMBO Innocent

Never been out of their boxes although it looks like the mice tried to get in one.
