Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

 Good to see you back on here SoT.

I prefer Connie and Nellie in blue, the yellow always looked somewhat strange. However a nice find all the same.

 I just bought asnother G2A as I hope to back date my original eiher to early LMS livery or possibly LNWR depending upon my research and if I can see the different a G2 is from a G2A.

That's not fair LC, you have posted the picture on two forums. You know how weak I am.

@LC&DR

That looks like a paint job on the Roco 04111C BR80, one of my favourite shunters.

Some HMRS LMS Methfix transfers to back-date my original G2A. I ordered these by mistake thinking they were pressfix. But rather than try to send them back I bought a bottle of meths and am quite pleased with the result.

I had damaged the tender coal rails so had o replace them, when spraying the coal rails the masking tape fell off and I oversprayed the tender so had to repaint that. I also damaged the cab grab rails and broke the whistle off so hd to repaint the cab and relace the whistle. The latter being Hornby from an old 101 body!

As I bet my usual acrylic varnish will bloom, I'll probably use one of my rare Humbrol Enmel sprays if the weather is OK tomorrow - err later today!

Oh just notied the tender is wrong!
