Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Oh dear,  still not found them then.

If it’s not Crimson, it isn’t a proper engine

They'll be in that safe place you put them in poliss. I bought a set of router bits a few weeks ago because I couldn't find the ones I'd put somewhere. I thought 'I know I'll put the new set somewhere where I'll remember where they are' so I did and that's where I found the ones I'd lost.

Been througn every box twice, if not six times. Last I saw them was when I was measuring a twig for the missus.

That must have been a very accurate twig poliss.

Measuring to see what size the hole in the base was needed for some sort of craft fruit tree thingy.

Just ordered (from Hornby) two of the Re-built Maunsell carriages in BR Crimson - should go with the Adams Radial very nicely.

If you dream it, you can do it.

Western Express Digital Train Set. A really nice set bought at Hattons knock down price and a set of wide nem pocketed couplings.

Eight Hornby SR non-corridor carriages arrived today. I have four in green and four in crimson (one of each) and the applied livery is excellent. They are amazing, detail is incredible, and they run very smoothly.

What really DID impress me was Hornby's delivery method. First an email to tell me they were at the warehouse, and that they would be despatched shortly and I would be given a one hour delivery target. Then another email the following day to say the delivery would arrive within a pre-advised hour. And they did, exactly as promised! The packaging was excellent as well. Strongly packed into two boxes with heavy paper padding, easy to open and  yet obviously secure and the contents perfectly protected.

A Hornby R6625 GWR MOGO nice model but for those who are wondering it has wide couplings in the old "Airfix" style sockets.
