Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Just picked up a used Stroudley Terrier in BR black (late crest). Better yet, it was already DCC fitted (having chipped two other terriers in the last week I wasn't looking forward to doing a third). Great little locos - love 'em!

Just won another Black five long wheel base this time late crest.  Thats 8 now.

Wonder if I should see a Doctor about my Black5 problems.

Don't trouble the GP - just pass one on to me

Oh I don't know, Black 5's are very additive. I would hate to start you of on something that's so bad for your wallet.

If it’s not Crimson, it isn’t a proper engine

From a model shop,  2 railroad MK1s - a BSK and CK in maroon, 2 x 9 plank loco coal and a Fowler 2p 4-4-0 late crest 40602.

The 2P is rather nosiy though, it was quiet when first run but has developed an annoying intermittent screech. I have oiled where it says - axles and coupling rods, but to no avail, so the body will have to come off to see if there are any gears to oil.

RR Mk1s were only £12.95 each, and the wagons £6.00 each so happy with those prices..

My latest acquisition is the seventies version of NellieLaughing! In the darkish blue S&DJR[?] livery as 7178. I got it via the 'Bay for a tenner plus another £3 P&P.. Had tried to for the "Lady" herself Nellie, though some of the prices asked for/paid were a little rich for me. Still keeping an eye out mind. I'm also looking at getting some of the freelance 4 wheel coaches too, for the staff. As I'm planning on a small 4'6" by 2' board an industrial yard, with a two road fiddle yard and plenty of siding to shunt

These are my latest arrivals.

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams. And she was. She really was.

A Hornby GWR Railcar DCC with cream roof --bet you won't see this in the Hornby Catalogue Wink    A lovely runner but best put into action using a re-railer. A bit fiddly otherwise.

That looks great, Jimbo, shame it isn't being updated and re-issued.  The Dapol version is due sometime, but there has been a long gap since these were last available
