Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Obtained some N-gauge track from Hattons to test out a Lonmoor Military Railway train pack.

It looks like I will be making a working diorama in this 'quuuuuuute' scale!

 Hornby club membership.

Valve gear for an old Margate built 8F, and some 1/4 inch 6BA countersunk bolts - as I couldny get genuine Hornby body screws. I just hope they are the correct length, 3/8 inche are just a little too long.

Hi all

Not Hornby but Egger Bahn

For those that don't know Egger Bahn was around in the 1960's they went down the gurgler like many companies did, around about the same time as Triang I think.

One of these for a small narrow gauge line that will feed into my Hornby line thats the passenger service taken care of when I can afford another one.

regards John

Finally picked up an Exeter from Hamleys yesterday.

Hailing from Exeter (and now living in London), it was great to finally pick one up, although it take some time - they ordered Exeters, Budes etc in before Christmas and only got them yesterday.

Guess how many Exeters were sent to Hamleys?

Two. Yep, two.

The guy there previously advised me they would be getting anywhere between two and nine Exeters, so glad I kept on pestering him!

Shame I won't run it until March when I next spend the weekend with my parents...

Picked up a cheap Railroad Class 55 the other day, fantastic runner! Looking for another now as I have an relatively old Lima Class 55 body that would fit nicely to run as a pair
