Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

I assume they will have different running numbers (and names?), KPJ, and, if not, would you consider changing one of them? Or wouldn't you be bothered?

At this stage , I would not be bothered . I still consider myself very much a beginner but had already thought that one day when I have more time ( eg when I retire in a couple of years time ) I would pluck up the courage to renumber one of them without making a hash of it !!

I just got the  Class 47 TTS too excellent sound on this loco . you get six different horn sounds on the 47  that more than some of the high-end DCC sound locos . the only thing I would criticise is that the loco is a bit lightweight  not a problem for me only having a small layout  someone with a bigger layout would need to add a bit extra weight.  excellent value for money the TTS sound  now got to start saving for the flying Scotsman.

Latest additions to the retro layout.

A "windcutter", well more of a "breezecutter" as it's only a short rake at the moment but the rake will grow, some more retro wagons and the B.R. Green Ivatt 2-6-0 which has eluded me since it first came out.

RAF,

I clicked on the link and then select Videos, you then have a choice of several videos of his very nice layout. I think I've got quite a few similar passengers, though nowhere as many!!

37L - I was wondering about how you set such a channel up.

RAF96,

We're straying a little off topic but I've just spent 1/2 hour trying to find your above posting. I looked at so many threads except this one, thought "no it wasn't in latest aquisition so don't bother looking there". Found another post by John [Aschliov] and looked up his recent postings to locate this. Apologies, prime example by me of interpreting written words with a competely different meaning to what was intended. Good result for Lewis!

May have confused you there 37L by asking you how John Aschliov set his vid channel up. Should have quoted a few bits from each post.
