Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Hi LC&DR

At least you got the spelling right, which is more that I did (as pointed out by friend (?) WTD). I didn't know of the Bakelite connection - mine was plastic. As an aside, did you know there is a museum, dedicated to Bakelite, at Williton, on the West Somerset Railway?

I also remember Brickplayer - an induction course for trainee 'brickies', perhaps?

None of mine survives - LC&DR probably just looked at the box whereas I had to go by a very bad 50 yrs+ memory !!

Treated myself to 12 conflats from Bachmann and 5 Dapol BR (ex LMS) kits to go with my BR (ex LMS)  12 wheel maroon dining car.

No these are the corridor coaches in BR maroon. I have a set in carmine and cream and thought they looked fine. I had fun painting the interiors and detailing those with HMRS transfers.I also fitted the bogies with 14mm metal wheels. This lot are getting the same treatment plus "The Lakes Express" coach boards.  I also have the non corridor stock made from kits and detailed. At £10 per coach I think that they are value for money and look very good.
