Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

Posted at 07:59:15 Tue 19 Mar 2013

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

The Hornby-Arnold N Gauge 5-Bel "Brighton Belle Pullman" 1934 Set together with a TCS Decoder. Looks fantastic. Runs well on my home layout, runs well on my Clubs Exhibition Layout, runs well on 2 out of 3 Power Block's of my Clubs main Layout, continually shorts on the 3rd Block. Tried diferent Decoders, but all the same. Oh well, still a great train. I'll mainly run it at home and at exhibitions when no one is looking(USA Layout).

Peter.

BR Standard Class 5MT – 73049 – BR Green - DCC Ready - I saw it in the MRD Sale - very good price. I'm currently in Florida, so it should be there awaiting my return when I get home.

If you dream it, you can do it.

One 72xx 2 - 8 - 2 - tank engine, BR logo. I thought I'd ordered a DCC fitted, but I've got a DCC ready. Not to worry. It's only been on order since April LAST year, when it was advertized!

I think I'll be getting my Bachmann modified Hall soon. Well over two years now. I seem to remember scratching the order on a slate and sending it to Gaugemaster by messenger.

Yes and by the time it gets released  they might just beam it to your address.

If it’s not Crimson, it isn’t a proper engine

Not sure if this qualifies for an aquisition but I've just produced an interior for the old Triang/Hornby short clerestory brake. Sadly it needed a little trimming to fit but I've now fixed the original "model" but have yet to test print it.

R2328A GWR 0-6-0PT '2759' to keep R2328 '2799' company. It looked sad being the only Class 2721.

Catalogues R8109 Hornby 2005 Edition Fifty-one and R8136 2007 Edition Fifty-Three both with price lists.
