Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

Got a nice s/hand boxed Britannia at Ally Pally today for £50, had a couple of easily fixed issues with the valve gear and now running beautifully. And a Blue Box City of London out of the firms bargain bin for £62.

A Ffestiniog and Welsh Highland Railway box van in 009 narrow gauge, made by that Devon company in a very limited run. It comes with a nice moulded bit of plastic track, which with a bit of decorating, will drop nicely into the Llanfair.P.G. 00 three plank wagon as a load!

Hi BB

I hope you give your postman a big tip at christmas. All these parcels and having to meet you down the road - I bet he wonders what goes on in your house!!

We don't appear to have a regular postman -whether its shifts or holidays, but they do seem to chop and change alot. Caerphilly Castle caught me out, I saw the email saying the coaches had been shipped, checked where I was with the "plastic" - as you commented - a number of parcels this month. The statement was a little larger than expected - so checked the "shipping" email again, and there was the Castle tucked in at the bottom of the list. It is the last of my January 2014 pre-orders.

If you dream it, you can do it.

An R.140 signal gantry. It's yellowed with age but this is easily sorted. Another 3 good ones to find. It's a pity Hornby don't make this range of signals today, they went out of production in 1977-1978 which is a pity are they are closer to scale than their replacements that came into the range in 1978 and which are still made today.

My latest purchases were a Triang Track Cleaning Car for £3 and a Hornby Dublo R1 tank for £15 (which runs like it's brand new!).

My latest aquisition however is a Triang Nellie that once belonged to my girlfriends late grandfather. It needs some tlc, some motor brushes and a neo magnet, but otherwise is a lovely little thing
