Model Railway - What's your latest acquisition?

Posted at 07:59:15 Tue 19 Mar 2013

What's your latest aquisition?

Here's my latest purchase, a Tri-ang-Hornby R.754 M7 in BR Black livery.

The box was tatty, crew were missing and the BR totem transfers on the tank sides were part missing as per normal.

The model is slowly being restored, a fresh box mint was found on ebay with incorrect labels (the one on the right) and I have crew and original totem transfers a plenty in stock, I will post stages of the restoration at intervals for all my friends on here to see as they take place.

Here's the loco pre-restoration but with nice new original 40+ BR Totem transfers put on the side tanks, a packet of the original transfers is posed by the loco for reference.

Hope all at Hornby like what I am doing to their old locos.

Enjoy!

This was a nice find today. Bought for spares but all salvageable apart from the small mail coach. The large mail coach is mint unboxed.

Arrived today, now running-in on Rolling Road. An excellent model even in RailRoad spec.

A bargain at £42.50. Now need to source suitably sized sound decoder & speaker for loco fit.

I have to say my Beattie Well Tank, picked up a couple of weeks ago, is now run in, and really is a very nice southern tank - highly recommended.

If you dream it, you can do it.

Wasn't going to buy any loco's until gote the main track laid but ordered Tornado and Olton Hall Thursday in the 50% sale and they arrived today.

I received an email Saturday advising courier delivery would be today but as no-one would be here I asked them to hold and arranged to pick up tomorrow [the earliest option they offered]. Called in on the off chance today and collected my Tornado. It's now sitting side by side to the Bachmann model  which cost me at least three times as much. The Bachmann is very detailed but for value for money, no question, the award goes to Hornby!

My latest acquisition is R2705 Grand Central HST, which will have sound fitted in both power cars shortly. Now I just need the mk's to go with it haha

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams. And she was. She really was.

I just received my J15 a gorgeous loco and two private wagons 'Coltness' and 'J.James & Co' and a decoder of course. I'm gonna try and put some pictures on here after I finished work.

I could only take a few good pictures on good one of the cab though.
