UK MINI Challenge drivers Simon Walton and Adrian Norman have teamed up to form "Swanflight.com TeamSCALEXTRIC" which will be managed by the newly formed Rob Sims Racing.

Simon Walton, 49, is a factory manager for Swanflight.com and first raced in Schoolboy Motocross, moving to off-road motor sport quad bike racing where he went on to win the British Masters. After watching the MINI Challenge on TV, Simon immediately knew that this was going to be his next motor sport adventure.

Swanflight.com was established in 1994 in Sedgefield, UK when Simon (then a full-time DJ) started making cases in his garage for the entertainment industry. Now with over 20 years of experience in design and manufacture, Swanflight.com has built up excellent branding and is one of the market leaders. Swanflight.com covers the sound & light industry as well as industrial equipment, catering, motor sport, public services and I.T.

Adrian Norman, 59, is returning for his third season of the UK MINI Challenge. Adrian formed Team Scalextric in 2012 and competed with team mate Patrick Mortimer in 2012 and 2013.

In 2014, Simon and Adrian will campaign their BMW MINI Coopers in the Cooper class of MINI Challenge in a new "Swanflight.com TeamSCALEXTRIC" livery with both cars sharing a distinctive, eye-catching orange colour.

Swanflight.com TeamSCALEXTRIC is also delighted to announce that the team will be managed by Rob Sims Racing. Rob and his team bring many years of competitive racing experience to the two-car team. This arrangement came about as a consequence of a good working relationship producing excellent race performance and results for both drivers under individual guidance in the 2013 MINI Challenge season. Rob started in motor sport in 1995 and has worked with a diverse set of race teams, including Euro Cars, T Cars, Caterhams, Clio Cup, FIA Historic racing and many more.

Under Rob Sims Racing, the team will work on quality, efficiency and detail, while keeping a low stress and fun environment. With these things in place Swanflight.com TeamSCALEXTRIC are confident that results will soon follow.

Adrian believes that given how productive their individual relationships were with Rob in 2013 it made perfect sense to join forces. With growing support from Scalextric fans and their sponsors, both Adrian and Simon are looking forward to a fruitful partnership.

Scalextric and MINI fans can follow the action over the summer on Facebook, Twitter, the MINI Challenge website and right here at Scalextric.com, where we will keep you informed with race reports and results as the season develops. The first 2014 MINI Challenge race will take place at Donington Park on the 26th-27th April.

Swanflight.com TeamSCALEXTRIC would also like to thank their sponsors: Scale Models, Pendle Slot Racing, RUSC, SLN, NSCC, MPiD Design Ltd and Works Creative.
